Jul 08, 2015, Updated Jan 02, 2018 And we are on to popsicle #2 and there are Oreos involved this time around! Who doesn’t love Oreos? kids, adults everyone I know can’t have enough of this chocolate sandwich cookie and that’s why I thought that Oreo Popsicles would be the perfect recipe to share with you guys on this ongoing “frozen treats” week on Cook With Manali. Unlike the previous popsicle recipe, this one isn’t healthy. It’s a treat and so you should eat it like a treat too, once in a while. But I know that’s hard to do because I ate 2 of these in 10 minutes flat. They are a little hard to resist. YES!
One of the biggest Oreo fan I know is my husband. He just loves to munch on these cookies as such or with milk. It’s because of his love for Oreos that I made these Oreo Cupcakes 2 years back on his work anniversary. Co-incidentally, that recipe is one of the most popular recipes on the blog and I can see why. It’s Oreos after all! These popsicles are super simple to make, just mix in everything together and freeze. I had a hard time clicking pictures of these though because it was so hot and they were just melting away! Also sometimes popsicles just refuse to come out straight/in one piece from the mold, so frustrating! I hope you guys give these Oreo popsicles a try, it’s like eating Oreos dunked in milk but in frozen form! Method In a bowl/pan, mix together heavy cream and milk. Put the pan on low heat and add granulated white sugar. Mix till the sugar dissolves, around 1-2 minutes and them remove the pan from heat. Crust 3-4 oreo cookies using a food processor and add the oreo crumbs to the cream-milk base. You want 1/4 cup of fine oreo crumbs.
Break the remaining oreo cookies into larger pieces with your hands and to the cream-milk mixture. Pout the liquid into popsicle molds. After 2 hours when it’s semi-frozen, insert the sticks. Let it freeze for 6-8 hours or preferably overnight. Run under warm water for 30 seconds and then pull gently to release.
Enjoy the oreo popsicles!
- The prep time is only 10 minutes. The total prep time includes the time taken to freeze the popsicles, which is 6 hours.
- This recipe made 8 popsicles in my popsicle mold. It will make more if you use a smaller mold and less if you use a bigger mold. Oreo Popsicles
