Frozen popsicles are one of my favorite go-to summer desserts, and with my 100% fruit popsicles being a hit, here are some yogurt popsicles that are still super healthy, but creamier and rich. All you need is some yogurt of your choice (dairy or vegan!) and your favorite fruit, and away you go. However, this post will also include ideas for additional ingredients and ways to pimp your homemade frozen yogurt popsicles- for endless options! Not only do they look and taste amazing, but they’re also a great way to sneak in fruits and nutrients into your ‘snacks’ too – which makes them a big win-win in my eyes. I’ve also kept mine as sugar-free frozen yogurt. However, if you want to add some additional sweetness naturally – then I’ve got options for that, too!

The frozen yogurt popsicles ingredients

It probably doesn’t surprise you to learn that the vital ingredient of these yogurt fruit lollies is yogurt. I always use plain yogurt and add extra flavor with my fruits. Full fat, low-fat, and even fat-free yogurts will all work. However, the texture will vary slightly (as fat content usually means softer popsicles). More than that, frozen yogurt also provides additional health benefits, in terms of the active cultures found within the product. While there may be some loss in the freezing process, it does retain a level of active cultures. Plus, it’s additional ‘tangy’ flavor can mean less sugar and ‘unhealthy’ additives are needed. While these yogurt popsicles aren’t the traditional soft-serve fro-yo – they have literally frozen yogurt- the idea is the same. Some Plain Yogurt options include (I always use homemade):

Natural Yogurt Greek Yogurt Coconut Yogurt Almond Yogurt Soy Yogurt

Next, to flavor the yogurt, we have fresh fruit. I include a whole long list of fruit options in my fruit Ice Pops post. However, some of my favorites fruits are:

Mango Pineapple Strawberry Raspberry Blueberry Peach Cherry passion fruit ( to decorate)

Then finally, the other (completely optional) base ingredient would be a natural sweetener. I prefer sugar-free frozen yogurt, but for those that want a sweeter treat, you could use:

Maple Syrup Honey (if not vegan) Agave syrup Erythritol (keto-friendly)

Sugar content will help to provide softer textured frozen popsicles too.

Other Frozen Popsicle Additions

Once you have your base down, then you can get creative with any ‘additional’ elements. I like to add ingredients for a bit of extra crunch, or sometimes just additional nutrients. Options include:

Chia Seeds – for added protein and nutrients Granola/ puffed quinoa/ chopped nuts– for crunch and flavor Veggies – blend some spinach or kale into a green fruit popsicle for lots of additional nutrients Nut butter – i.e., almond butter or peanut butter with blueberries or raspberries makes for delightful ‘PBJ’ style frozen popsicles. Chocolate – Either using sugar-free Dark chocolate, or your favorite white/milk chocolate or chocolate chips to melt and dip into slightly ( usually just the tip of the ice pop), for an extra treat. Vanilla – Either vanilla extract, powder, or seeds – for an additional dessert-like flavor twist.

How to make frozen yogurt popsicles

This post contains the idea for three different ice pop flavor combinations. However, once you have the base ratios figured out, then the sky is the limit. Keep your pops simple with a single fruit, or mix it up. Add some extra ingredients (check the section above for ideas), or don’t – the choice is up to you. If you try a different fruit or ‘decoration’ for every new batch, you’ll never get bored of these simple fruity frozen yogurt popsicles!

What’s Needed

Any unsweetened, regular yogurt – for these, I used natural yogurt. Feel free to use dairy-free. Blueberries, raspberries, mango Optional: Extra berries and other fruit for decoration, homemade granola, or puffed quinoa

The Steps

How to store

Once the lollies are frozen, you can remove them from the silicone molds. Place them in a freezer-safe airtight container for 1-2 months. You’d get a delicious tutti frutti frozen yogurt popsicle. Then, fill up the ice lolly mold with the yogurt mixes. A box/glass container will take less space than multiple molds. Plus, they are airtight- to save the pops from freezer burn.
