The great thing about making smoothies is that you have options galore. So, you can make summer smoothies and smoothie bowls with any fruit or vegetable combination that you can think of. I became obsessed with smoothies once I realized that they were not only fast, but they were also super delicious. Smoothie recipes are loaded with lots of nutrients. So to me, it makes sense to incorporate smoothies into your daily and weekly diets. I know I can make a creamy and delicious quick snack using fresh or frozen bananas. Or fresh or frozen strawberries or other types of frozen fruit. And I love knowing that I’m fueling my body with real food. Plus, these natural ingredients taste great and there is no sugar added.
Strawberry Banana Smoothie Ingredients
Strawberries: You can use either fresh strawberries or frozen strawberries for this recipe. Both will taste great. However, if you’re hoping for a thick and creamy smoothie, it’s best to use frozen fruit.Banana: I used fresh ripe bananas. However, you can use frozen as well which will enhance that creamy texture. Orange juice: It’s best to use freshly squeezed orange juice. (If you want to make a strawberry banana smoothie without yogurt, orange juice is a great liquid to use.)
Optional Add-ins and Variations
Frozen fruits: As I mentioned above, you can use frozen fruits if you’d like. That will add to the thickness of the fruit smoothie.Milk: You can totally turn this into a dairy smoothie by adding in some milk (dairy or dairy-free milk). To keep this tasty treat vegan, I love adding almond milk but you may also enjoy oat milk or coconut milk.Greens: Superfoods in smoothies are always a good idea. Add in some kale, spinach, or even some chopped-up avocados to boost the nutrients. Seeds & Grains: they’re a fun texture to add on top. Chia seeds and flax seeds are great options! I also think that mixing in some raw oats is actually a great texture and a good source of fiber, too. Protein: I love adding extra protein to my smoothies! It’s such an easy way to get a boost without trying too hard. Adding in natural/Greek yogurt, peanut butter, or even protein powder always does the trick.
How to Make Strawberry Banana Smoothie Recipe?
Prep the strawberries by removing the green stems. Then, chop the banana. Lastly, juice the oranges (check my top methods here). After that, place all the ingredients in a blender or a food processor and blend the ingredients until smooth. Finally, give this classic strawberry banana smoothie a taste and adjust any of the flavors if needed. Time to enjoy this simple smoothie! And, you can choose from several serving options! You can easily pour the smoothie mixture into a glass or a large mason jar and drink it. Or put it into a bowl, top it with a bit of homemade granola and eat. The best part about making a homemade smoothie is that you can enjoy it however you’d like. For example, fresh strawberries and bananas on top are always a great choice as well.
